Good idea & mood. Try to rotate the rook & knight so their bases are parallel to the surface of the board. The rook is only off a bit, but the knight is more obvious.

Thanks Bob...comments and hints are always helpful.
Since when did Janeane Garofalo go Gothic and learn to play chess? hehehe
Really is a nice feel author and the perspective and blurred background really makes this a very stable chop. Good Luck!
Good idea! The knight and the king are fairly well oriented, but the rest of the pieces could be rotated so they align better with the surface of the head.
Very original concept! I do agree with CMYK46 about the positioning but it's still a most effective image. It's good to see you back, I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks spaceranger !! happy to participate and join pxleyes
Looks like someone I dated in the 80's.. I still have scars LOL Fun! A little more definition in the lips/nose/eyebrow in the white areas might add to the effect even more (NOT NECESSARY) Just throwing two cents in there.. it's great just the way it is

Thanks for your funny comments and i won't retouch this picture, i will see....
Lol, so funny, maybe change the whole short to black and white to make the effect even stronger

Thanks WYSIWYG, got rid of the overlay filter work as well (That was what I did at first to bring out the contrast) black and white worked much better. Thanks!
Super cool author, and excellent SBS. I would suggest to replace the Pawn in the Hand Picture with the Pawn from the contest source. (Not necessary, but it would add to the the synchronicity of the image, making all the pieces alike). GREAT JOB!
