Source 1 is not a stock image. When using DA for source material, always use this link, which will take you to the stock section. http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/resources/stockart/ Even then, some images will be renders, which are not valid sources.
I posted this image on DA and sent links with thanks to authors of all the photos I used, including the source 1!
While it is true that we do not allow the use of DeviantArt Photography images as a rule there can be exceptions. In this case the DeviantArt author states in the comments (seventh comment from the top), in response to a request to use the image as stock: "Thanx! Please, feel free to use my work as you wish - I do not believe in copyrights and such "
We have seen this before on DeviantArt and because of this it's important to carefully check the terms for individual images. In general DeviantArt Photography images are copyrighted and cannot be used as stock but as in this case there are exceptions. It should also be mentioned that DeviantArt Stock authors can write any rules they wish and many are so unusual and complex we no longer check for compliance, that is now up to the Pxleyes entry author. As long as the image is listed as "stock" and has not been altered by Photoshop (other than a color change or enhancement) we allow it.
Note that source 8- The Starfield is an image in the Public Domain that has been enhanced with a color change so it is acceptable as a source.
BTW author, a really nice entry!
