Your task is to create a magical snow globe!
Show a magical scenery inside a snow globe and don't forget to add snow!
Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
Drivenslush: Does it have to be snow or can it be floating petals.. hearts etc.. like the ones that have at halmark.. (It's okay if it's just snow, but I think if we could make other things flying around it would add to the mix).. asking ahead of time so I don't get a spanking later.. hehehe ( 5 years and 1179 days ago )
scratzilla1: good question .. thanks for asking Drivenslush. ( 5 years and 1179 days ago )
Drivenslush: Scratz? about the Snow or the Spanking? hehehe ( 5 years and 1178 days ago )
spaceranger: @Drivenslush-To be safe I'll have to check with the other mods so please wait till I can confirm this but I think we could allow the alternate types you mention as long as the result is similar to the standard snow globe effect. ( 5 years and 1178 days ago )
Drivenslush: Thanks Rein I get ideas and I know they seldom mesh with others and it's better to be safe than sorry.. THANKS! ( 5 years and 1178 days ago )
spaceranger: @Drivenslush-The others Mods agree to your suggestion Ernie, we will allow the alternate types of snow globes you mentioned as long as the result is similar to the standard snow globe effect. ( 5 years and 1177 days ago )
Drivenslush: Thanks bring on the flying Chelsea buns.. hehehe ( 5 years and 1177 days ago )
scratzilla1: thank you MODS. bring on the chocolate flakes ( 5 years and 1176 days ago )
skyangel: Is Animation allowed? ( 5 years and 1173 days ago )
Contest Moderator: @skyangel-You could add some animation such as the snow flakes falling but keep it simple please, the contest goal is primarily the design of the globe. ( 5 years and 1172 days ago )

Fun process! More hearts though, just cause I want them LOL great job

I am sure that a passionate person like you must have already captured plenty of hearts in your lifetime and will capture many more before you meet with the grim reaper.
I like the 3D effect of the bones. I tried searching for a tutorial to see how it is done but it seems that it can only be done in the extended version of CS6.
If you or anyone else know how to turn objects into 3D in the ordinary version of Photoshop CS6, please share the info.
Lovely work. Very well done.
A suggestion for improvement is to give the wooden floor the same perspective as the base of the globe. Two different perspectives make it look like the globe is not sitting correctly on the floor.
author says:
I lowered the snow ball a little and I changed the perspective to match the base of globe. I hope I did well. Thanks for comment.
Just use perspective on the wooden planks and it will ground the whole thing. Right now you are getting a floating effect from the parallel lines. It looks more like a wooden fence and not a wooden floor. It's still a great chop. Good Luck.
On a side note, we used to get that type of snow globe at the Gift Gallery and they had a switch on them and they would activate themselves. I would hold them perfectly still in my hands, flip the switch on the bottom and they'd swirl like crazy. SOLD A TON OF THEM. hehehe
The perspective of the table is still way off. Perspective isn't that difficult to learn, there are many tutorials you can find on line about perspective.
Here are a couple from youtube that are very basic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgeMDL-gXDQ
and this one about cylinders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMRhuUQREMQ
