The background was made using square shapes with solid fills. The curtain was masked. The lines in the curtains are just really long rectangular black shapes. It's amazing how it came to life from the beginning to the end.

I made a fast, non detailed SBS.

I hesitated in colouring the entire image, but when I started to make the pants blue I found it looked just horrible so I stopped there. It looks indeed like an indie style video game (like The last Crown http://www.thelastcrown.com/ in black and white with only some parts in colours). So I’ll leave it as it is, even if it doesn’t look like a traditional Nintendo game.
