Did you smudge him into the background on purpose?
In my personal opinion I think it would look better if he was not smudged into the background. I would have just done the smudge painting on the face layer and only slightly blurred the background layer to give some contrast between the model and the background but obviously you are the artist and the final decision is yours.
The man has a very kind looking face and does look like he would make a great Santa.
Keep up your good work.

Frankly, I have no idea what I was doing....just stopped when I began to run out of Rocky Road Ice cream. I need to hear comments like yours, so thank you very much.
Oh that must be a real important question for you to have asked it 3 times. I guess my comment was neither good nor bad. I liked your chop. It's very artistic and the man's face, and expression is cool. It's maybe like when you see a painting and you say "I see this in it". To me he looks like he is just dunking his head into the water. The view that I see is "We" are underwater, and he is at the surface dunking his head in looking down at us. So to answer your question, it's neither good nor bad, but I guess since there is no real scene or background, people can interpret it as they wish, so that may be a good thing haha.
