Nephilim, the Giants, off springs of the Angels were disagreeable to all who knew them... even animals were hateful of them. Out of grief and loneliness the Nephilim started to invade their own graveyards and began to dig up the heads of their long dead. The skulls gave no solace, and the Nephilim would cradle the empty heads and weep with the force and loudness of an upcoming gale.
The Three Great Witches of the One Eye, who shared the current Realm with the Nephilim, were so infuriated by the moaning, decided to exact a cruel revenge. Calling upon the dark arts they caste spells on the wailing Nephilim which removed their tongues and placed them inside the heads of the Skulls. Without bodies and lungs, the tongues could only whisper and thus the Three Great Witches were sedated. The Giants, not too bright would try to communicate with the whispering skulls, not realizing that the skulls were actually themselves talking back.
Lucifer, the Angel of light, and God's favorite, took pity on the Nephilim and decided to help them. Taking the life force left over in the tongues, Lucifer allowed wings to sprout out of the heads of the skulls and feet so they could perch on the Nephilim's limbs and bring them some pleasure and companionship.
Over time, the children of Adam began to rule the world and the Nephilim were hunted and destroyed into extinction and the Pink Tongues died out as well with no one to take care of them.
Except for one duo. This Nephilim and his companion hide in caves near the sea shores feeding off the supplies of passing ships. Lucifer, due to his obvious loss of power when he fell, keeps the two alive for his own amusement, and for the remembrance of his days of glory. The only way he can keep them alive is to have the Nephilim feed the Pink Tongues the flesh of Adam. Sailors who are lost at sea have always been his main diet.
