There's an interesting idea here, but the random coloring of the piano keys has no relation to music. How many bright-red notes can there be, and how can two notes next to each other both be bright red? A cat playing the piano is very contemporary, however.

i totally understand the idea of musical tones being associated with colors! great idea... fantastic work! FYI... the scientific term for associating colors with sounds is called "Synesthesia" the mind is a wonderful thing!

@DanLundberg: The colors are following the same order than in original palet. The same note in different octaves doesn't have to had the same colour, and maybe the piano is out of tune, who knows?

Very nice! Looks like it could be a real butterfly. Perhaps you could either make the background a finger or a flower or even put a stick pin through it and lable it all scientific like. Just a thought.
