Nice idea and good source choice, the step 3 of the SBS looks better for me, the final image is too bluish

I think the color cast is a matter of preference...either version could work for me...this one seems like early morning, the other mid-day. Good blend, author!

IMHO light above figure could be softer, but it's a good image...

You forgot to remove some of the background between the knees and the arm. Otherwise its really nice..

Good expression for the monkey. Personally I wouldnt give the feathers a motion blur. Feathers have the ability to float calmly in the air. If you make them sharper, you (or at least I) see better that those are feathers. The way you put them in step 12 would work for me. For the rest, nice reconstruction from the source image, good job masking the monkey and well done result. Good luck!

Nice job except for the stripe on the front leg, and in hi res it looks like you just drew lines for the joint edges with the pencil tool...at least blur them a bit...
