Great looking critter! Edges of corn kernels could be rounder...

Pretty cool creature. It's very personal, but I might have made the background a bit less desaturated, so that there's a bit more color contrast with the Diptera Nematocera. And CMYK has a point, yes. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your comments, CMYK and k5683 - i rounded off the back layer of kernels, and i also added another set near the back to create a deeper feel. Wazowski - thanks! i bumped up the saturation in the backfround. I apologise for the slightly different result but i had to do all the adjustment layers again because for some odd reason i flattened the color correction layers. Thanks again!

wow, this looks even better yet! I like how you zoomed in a little more on the critter--unless it just looks like you did after taking Waz's advice. If you look at the high res. you can see some weird green dots on the corn just under the critter.

i agree with CMYK and k5683...this looks like you worked maybe hours on the "criytter" and got tired with the corn,,,clean it up and it will be very good

Okay, thank you all for the advice - i made some changes again. I re-created the corn and got it more rounded, i also added some light behind the Diptera Nematocera to draw attention straight to it, i increased the contrast and satursation of the background and also blurred it a bit more and i also darkened up the corn. Thank you all

i like the creature, but i don't like the backgroud...it's too...pointless or meaningless or i don't know how to say it.

Thank you everyone, Inanis i'm glad you liked the creature, but i didn't really want to put it on a different background because it would;ve been very difficult to find the right fit. i agree it's a tad pointless but it's just different than the source in my opinion.

all i'm saying is that this could be a very powerful image with the right background. and perhaps if you would make the creature bigger it would be better. the "pointless" background occupies too much space compared to the beautiful creature.

Nice image, but the colours don;t really match up, i think you should make the brown a little darker, but adding a layer mask to keep his features like his eyes how they are now. Good luck!
