nice entry. sorry confused. is the curtain the tank?

The cat looks giant compared to the background (buildings) and the bg lights come from up and the cat has mass lgiht on his left side.

You know what... I've never seen an image in this style.. AND I LIKE IT... because it's clever (besides... Calico Cats rule the Universe) ... good luck with this... ( the fish should NOT wrinkle so much... give them some more solidity) no big whoop.. good LUCK

Thank you for your comments. I've done some improvements now. My idea is that this is a fish tank, and that the cat breaks through it as if it was a curtain. I've removed the folds from the ends, and scaled down the cat. I have also burned highligts on the left side of the cat.

I would like a fish tank like that! Possible improvements: The fishes looks flat. The light from the windows should make objects cast shadows. The fish tanks glass looks solid and neither the glass or water seems to refract. The textures could use some bump map to make it more real.

Not bad, nice to see the background through the ball (maybe could do with some distortion). But yes, fix the edges and it may also help if you add an extra contrast adjustmentlater for the ball itself (it looks a bit too desaturated right now) and if the fish is somewhat more visible. Good luck!

The ball looks flat and the transition between the girl and the background is way too sharp; you can tell it's just pasted on there. The lighting is a factor in this. Fantastic concept though!
