I understand CMYK46. The zipper isn't to pull them apart. It's bringing them together.
if its bringing them together then maybe his hat should be on the left side of the zipper... so that they dont look like they came from the same photo. goodluck anyway.

interesting however the bottom right corner of the left half has a gap where it goes under the zip, maybe pull the zip down a bit further???
