nice pic, but I don't follow the concept.
I think he goes around killing flowers...
the concept may be that the warrior is supposed to be tough and violent but the petals bring a soft touch and lighten up the manly fighting mood...I dunno. He can't be slicing the flower because his sword isn't even out yet.
I think he just killed that poor defenseless flower and is doing one of those "sheath the sword real quick" moves you see in Samurai flicks...
Author, maybe you should let us know what you were thinking...
Yes the illlustration should be of a swift quick draw slicing threw the petal. The pedals also symbolize his soft side bringing the mood to show both the tough fighter and the soft kind person.
