Mood wise, this is great...however cohesively it would not hurt with better lighting blends to tie it together. The values are lacking on the snake. Everywhere the light hits on the hand it should also hit on the snake. Think about the light that would hit on the corresponding curves.
I really like this, i think it's a wonderful and powerful image. I would personally follow Annabat's advice, but even if you don;t you have a great image here. Good luck

I like the idea..is a very good image!
this would be better if you gave it a light source from the top after flattening the image
