It's not bad and I like that you are thinking more towards the contest goal. IMO, a different background might help as well. GL!

I like your idea, it's to theme but the background doesn't really match too well with the rest of your image.
The wave is fine. The background is still a little plane. You got 4 hours left to fix it.
