Where's the kid's body under the quilt?

He does seem to be lacking a body. The best that I can come up with is that the bumps are his knees which would make the quilt rise above his body if his knees are bent. But the distance between his head and knees is still really short. Other than that, I think that the image overall is fantastic! I love the design in the squares!
