It's a nice idea!
Just one thing: bird's face needs some burn/highlight to give it convexity; the way it is now it seems concave...
I can barely see the birds face. The only reason I knew it was a bird was because of the title and the wings. Try to add some shadows and highlights to make the bird pop more. gl
