Only one source for the leaf (I was lazy), the rest is derived from the original source.
Tried a few new techniques and finished it with a lot of traditional hand work, check out SBS for details (and hi-res).
I tried to achieve a watercolour painting like effect, but also saved 2 original paper flowers almost intact, you can spot them from the final image. (5 years and 3444 days ago)

Wonderful, it's a very neat work!...
nice,.....how about changing the BG?
I always whine about missing bgs myself. I take any idea, but I just felt like it was more clean and elegant without anything distracting the colours and overal design. I even tried a mild glass table with reflection and it just looked 'I so try to be artistic here' -kind of failure..
I think the BG is o.k. Small res looks great the high res shows some issues. May you could cut out the original vase, reduce the opacity around 40-70% (whatever matches best) and put it ontop of your vase. I also would blur the flowers a bit to get rid of the harsh lines. remove the fragments around the vase and flowers and you got a really good image.
very cool image the glass looks just a little broken up though, maybe try to fix it up a little and you've got yourself a nice image!
Just beautiful, and how you got it turn out that way... I´m impressed.
wao.. cool i never knew there was a 3d tool in photoshop...
i think its high time when i should upgrade my photoshop cs3 to cs5.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestion. I define most of the 'harsh lines' of the flowers a part of the technique and look. Blur makes it a bit dull for me (I just tried) and takes off from the original idea of a bit watercolourish/sketch like -look. But I did 'repair' the vase a little bit, as many ppl saw it more like being broken or sloppy work than a feature(tm). Thanks for the suggestion, Solaris and others.
Beautiful! Love the colors!
