Had fun making a new bug, from the one supplied.
The chicken image was from my own stock. (5 years and 3310 days ago)

I love the whole Mechanical animal of the piece.. you might want to disrupt the super symmetry of the image to give it a bit more realism.. but that is just IMHO.. great job overall
Cheers, i was not aiming for realism in this one. Liked how it was looking like a fantasy illustration.
You could just do a simply lighting filter from the left or right.. that would do the trick.. it's a very nice piece all around.. good luck
I'm not a fan of super symmetry either: would a bug really have its antennae and legs perfectly mirror their opposite sides? I also think the background is too blurred because any clue as to what it is has been eliminated. Coupling those corrections with a Rule of Thirds composition could be more dramatic.
I like the idea. The bug certainly looks menacing. Think a texture background and a frame with shadows will make it look like a specimen on display. That will end the symmetry issue. GL
This is a fantasy bug, reality has no play. Symmetry smimtry.
Who is to say that in this world or others symmetry is perfect, or near or not... LOL. And the background has no relation into what it has been, i just liked the idea of using the original source as a background...
cheers for your comments
I actually like how this one is done. It almost has that "comic book" look to it. I like how you achieved that. Did you add some of your own coloring in the last step or so? (probably between steps 14 and 15?)
GL author!
SilverSurfer..No i used the posterise filter, yeah wanted the comic look to it, cheers for your comment.
One tough scary looking bug, well done.
Very nice work, agree with SilverSurfer, my thoughts exactly, love the posterized effect for this. Can definitely see it as a menacing cartoon character!
