This is a strange picture I took at a local restaurant. The waitress assured me it was a real fish but I don't know. If anyone knows what kind of fish it is I'd love to know. (I still can't believe the OPA is a real fish)
She explained that it is well known for it's huge multi colored fins that look like rainbows. Also for extreme rarity, so glad the owners of the restaurant took it into their hearts to kill and stuff it.
I decided to take away the huge fins and make them small (5 years and 3234 days ago)

nice piece author...great shapes and colors...IMHO this fish look way natural in your interpretation then original...best of luck
This fish is "Truth is stranger than fiction" type. Saw the original in sbs. I googled to find the name, couldn't. It should be having 1. If anyone here can find it please let me know or message it here. So beautiful. Thanks author for the info.
I appreciate the brilliant colors you gave to the overall image. Love the curves and diagonals. I will add this to my fav.
I am pretty sure they are a type of "Flying Fish" or Exocoetidae ... check it out here and see if you agree http://www.99express.com/2009/06/exocoetidae-flying-fish.html.
Here is a better link with one that looks a lot like yours http://www.sharkfriends.com/wacky/flyingfish.html
Sorry after all that forgot to comment on your image. Great idea to make them smaller but if I am right your poor guys won't be able to fly any more ...their wings are clipped Love your background!
Howdie stranger!
