Interesting and pretty realistic, although I don't get the 'rafting' reference. The figures blend into the background too much IMO. Perhaps a narrower depth of field would help. (In hi-res the edges of the older guy's back and cap are fuzzy.)
A very interesting concept, I have two little nickpics. Firstly the rocks next to the step infront of the shop, the steps are in shadow and the rocks in sunlight, perhaps darken the rocks and I think they might look better if they were rough at the top rather than straight like the steps. Second, perhaps a little bit of water behind the boat on the right side would give the appearance of sufficient room for the boat to sail through. Good Luck
