I wanted to create a typical child's play scene that shows the delightful way children mix different toy components with no regard to rules or conventions.
Lego garage was from Flickr.
Lego Mechanics, skeleton, oil can, car underside and R2D2 are from my own photos. (5 years and 2768 days ago)

Reflections need work, other wise a nice fun image.
Thanks CMYK46. All advice gratefully received. Would love any suggestions for improvement.
Lots of tuts here: http://www.pxleyes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4396&p=53777#p53777
I agree with CMYK, but this is not as hard as it might look:
make the reflection of the car as high as the car itself, that makes it already a lot more believable. You can use a white gradient layer over that reflection and blend it in the reflection layer. That way you make the reflection fade out.
Then you'll have to make a reflection underneath the car as well, that can be done by duplicating the reflection and then use the smudge tool and use the pixels closest to the car and smudge it inwards. Don't forget to remove the part of the duplicated reflection layer!
Good luck
Thanks so much for taking time to help. I fixed up the reflections a bit. I also took a pic of the underside of a matchbox car to use for reflection, and used smudge tool as advised to join the two reflections.
I have stared at it for too long today!
Thanks again for advice - this is a fantastic site.
Aaahh! I finally realised what you meant (robvdn) by making the reflection as high as the car - I have done that and you are right - it makes a huge difference. I'm pretty happy with the result.
Great use of source, nice work, author.
Thanks Pearlie
