Yea..Is there a way to take it down without a mod doing it?
Why don't you try to finish the entry? Then go to the menu My stuff > my contest entries. There you can edit your image and submit a new one...
Author, you can edit your entry, on the nav bar go to -my stuff - my contest entries- and choose the entry. Then you can upload the edited version, add additional sources or a step by step etc.
