You can call it bad, but why not provide some feedback to a beginning photoshopper? That comment adds no value for the author!
I would crispen (if that's even a word!) up the edges of the hole (front and sides) and loose the 'ground' at the front just leaving that as head!
I would also suggest moving his 'eyes' so they are looking up at the source...

It's getting there...
re the eye.... it's kind of lost the dark rim around the iris... but you did a good job moving it!?.
you may want to lighten the mid tones and shadows on the body of the dog (or use curves with a large featheresd lasso selection) The hole should be fine!...

Light on dog is from upper left. Shadow should rotate about 90 degrees clockwise. Lighting on man's head is much less harsh than in the source image. Could be adjusted accordingly.
