Good humor...try to make the shadows consistent.
By consistent you mean to make them same color shadows? Or transparency. Thanks for comment.
The shadow on the meerkat says the light is from lower left. Shadows on objects say light is from upper left.
Shadows Fixed.....! Thanks for suggesting source for this contest.
Good one author.., agrees with cmyk about the shadows.. I think the shadows should be smaller and fades away to the end.., Maybe you should align the shadows with the perspective of the table.., good luck author
I thought there were something wrong with the shadows. Nothing hard to fix them.. thanks for your observation my friend.
Funny - and remarkable photo of the meerkat!
Perspective and the perception of depth or distance can be tricky to achieve. If the reflectors next to the meerkat are resting on a table, they would appear a little more skewed (shorter and wider) instead of perfectly round. Consider playing a bit with their shapes under Perspective or Distort or Skew options under the Edit > Transform menu in Photoshop. If not for this contest, perhaps for future works. To me, right now, the objects appear to be hanging on a wall, not resting a table. And if it is a wall, then the meerkat is suspended mid-air. Does that make sense to you?
Thanks elemare, I did not realize that. I will play with perspective on the reflectors.
Perspective on the wood grain floor would be helpful in the perspective. Making the downstage wood larger spacing while tightening the distance between (See how tight the lines are under the piano in this picture(Link below) and how wide they get when you get closer to the photographer

your shadows have been corrected and if you place a more perspective floor under them it would ground them, you might want to try placing a Gauss blur disk under each piece to get them even closer to the floor (burning their bottom edge accordingly)Very cute entry by the way.. but I LOVE meerkats hehehe
First at all, I want to thank you, and all of the ones who have given me hints to make my works better. I thought I knew everything, and wanted to do my own way. Well, it is not how it works. Getting your ideas gave me the chance to change my entry, and get a better image. Now, I can see how perspective and shadows work. Thanks Driven, you are a wizzzzzzz....ard,!!!! Cheers my friend.
You probably already knew how to do it, you just needed a push in the right direction. After my coma, I had to relearn a lot of stuff, also my memory banks were all shuffled. (I had the hardest time remembering what a freepin Rolling Pin was at the store, but granted it said Moving Stick on the side of it (dollar store) I was so confused I almost started to cry, then I realized what it was and just laughed like a goon. The sales clerk got a little spooked. I bought one very quickly and got the hell out of there. Now I have a rolling pin. Problem now is I have to figure out what to do with it LOL GREAT IMPROVEMENT. Excellent chop!
