i think his left leg is too long
song by richard marx
We are the children of the night
We won't go down without a fight
Our voice is strong, our future's bright
And thanks to what we learned from you
We've grown into the children of the night
How I long for something better
Than this life I know too well
Lord, I know I'm bound for heaven
Cause I've done my time in hell

Too dark overall. A lot of the empty black on the left could be cropped off to give this a better composition, and increasing the contrast (or the ambient lighting) would better define the "child." Since the title is "Children of the NIght," I thought it was two poorly illuminated figures until I saw the foot on the left...
thank mossyB - I did change the lighting some, and cropped it some. strange how it looks a lot better before saving it as a .jpg
edit - after looking at this I should have put a lot more work into this before posting it in this contest....
I really like this ... I think what you did after Mossy's comment must have helped as I can see it clearly! It has a simple elegance to it and I think you should be happy with the final image. It is unique and clever! High marks for your individual approach!
Thanks arca - I did spend a lot more time on this after those frist comments
I didn't see it before, but totally agree with Arca, it's quite unique, I like it!

Nice job!
The "dead" fairy lays pretty ok there (no pun intended), but if possible I'd replace the standing fairy for one that match better with the jar's perspective. Good luck!
interesting piece...gl

Beautiful starscape, but the bottom is too dark.
This is really nice...good combination of sources. The foreground guy is warm and the boat is cool. Perhaps it would look more together if they were both a cooler color....since lunar light is more cold than warm. It almost looks right now as if the guy is being hit with a sunset from extreme right.
Cool mix of different images...gl
There's just as much yellow in the background as in the foreground. Yellow doesn't work well in a simulated night scene as described in the contest description, but if you want yellow lights in the background, the foreground should be more blue.

You have done a very good job of blending all the different components together and nice work on the perspective.
The only thing I might suggest is that the large helicopter in the foreground is a bit blurry in Hi res ... if you cannot get a sharper image of a helicopter you could make this work if the "bridge" was equally as blurred on the same horizontal plane as the heli ... sort of like this image here http://www.flickr.com/photos/dalemoorephotography/4191542938/ ... that also might help draw the eye into the image more.
Nice use of the source image!
@arca Thanks for the appreciations and useful suggestion. I understand what you want to say. I edited it.
@pixelkid Thanks you.
Love the image overall but why are there shadows on the beams?
