A bit too dark on the edges, you can't see her awesome shoes!

author says:

Hahaha... Ok Mossy, I'll be fixed in a few minutes... Thanks!

I hope to give a better view ... the shoes!

This has a surreal and a beautiful look to it. Nice work, author!

avatar Eladine
Eladine says:

I like the image but i dont think you should have put the hair so straight upwards from the back of her head. I keept looking at what was wong with the girl why she looked so odd, then i saw it.. its the hair it gives the neck a real weird angle for some reason while you didnt really changed that at all. I love the mood u added to the picture and the color changes. The motion you ahve added fits perfectly too! I would have added the watch a lil more to the middle closer to her hands though. but overall its very nice, high score!

author says:

Thank you Danielle, for your constructive criticism.
As soon as I can will do something about the hair. I really do not "feel" the fault, so it was so.
But I agree with you!
Thank you!!!

author says:

I made some modifications:

The clock approached her hands.
I have no experience with hair...
So... Duplicated twice the model's hair and worked the size and the edges with smudge.

Tks.

American Mcgee's Alice - created by TwilightMuse

American Mcgees Alice
Favs: 2SBS: 18Hi-resRank: 10/16Score: 61.8% (0)12738 views

This was a version I created using American Mcgees Alice. I used my own images. American Mcgee is a video game version of Alice in Wonderland. Its a very dark game.

Update: I added boots. I was going to l;lighten it up but I like it dark, its a dark concept. (5 years and 2936 days ago)

avatar MossyB
MossyB says:

Nice concept, but it's too dark, she looks like she has no feet...

author says:

I'll try to lighten up. The feet were cut out in the original image. I darkened it to help it blend.

avatar MossyB
MossyB says:

Aha! She had no feet to be lost...Well, that's where your chopping skills should be put to the challenge, give poor Alice some feet!

avatar wazowski
wazowski says:

Nice concept, yes. I can live with the non-showing feet, but the head is imo a bit too distorted. It's ok for the body, but I'd keep the head a bit more how it originally was. The cat is funny . Good luck!

avatar Akassa
Akassa says:

Perhaps give it some background it would give more dynamic to your work.

avatar SaEllisson

Very dark and creepy , great pic!

avatar rsguetre
rsguetre says:

I like the dark creepy feel to it and the way the characters are stretched out like you did, even the way the hand comes out to 'restrain' the cat... but the feet are missing - maybe some furniture or other "obstacle" in front of her, like a low table with those objects sitting on it?

author says:

I'm definitely going to try to do something with the feet. I made it look awkward and was going for a cartoony feel, which is why the girl looks strange. I wanted her to look very different from the model so I accentuated her features.

Alice Returns - created by Robart523

I found a great source image and just went from there...I do wish she had a head haha but oh well I think the composition worked out in the end. The card source images are in the SBS and I didn't end up using the rabbit in the final picture so I wasn't sure if I needed the link but I gave it just in case :) (5 years and 2937 days ago)

This is probably the Red Queen's Alice Fantasy...
Goodness knows she cried, "Off with her head!" enough times - looks like she got her wish...

Great mood, well done!

Very nice work, though I must say, I like it with the rabbit, but final outcome is still good.

avatar Akassa
Akassa says:

Wow looks fantastic, love the way you played with the fantasy attributives and the lights. Originality on the character's choice by excluding it's head :P

author says:

Haha thanks everyone and great point mossy I didn't even think of that I did really like the rabbit, but I just couldn't get it and the feet to look like they were actually on the ground realistically. Also I liked the framing better this way

avatar Drivenslush

the overall texture is fantastic!

superb, awesome, mind blowing!!! for sure my favorite.

avatar nbaztec

The mood is superb. The blurred backdrop adds up perfectly with the overall scene.
@Author, Good thing you didn't include the rabbit. It's such a perfectly dark scene - a rabbit would've ruined it. :p

What a perfect mood and wonderful job!
I loved every detail! Instant fav!
Special mention to the theme!
Good luck author!

Professional quality ... but if I was a paying client (and they can be wrong but they are always "right" I'd ask for the cards to be a touch lighter. Not only to add a bit of contrast but also because reflected light bouncing off them adds depth -- imo

Its a very nice scene you have setup there, but you need to work on some details to make this a winner the daffodils on the right, you need to cut them out way better.. I dont know what you used but you cut parts of the leafs n more. theres a black outline on the flowerpetals aswell. I like to suggest you to use the pentool for the cutout, if you dont now how then heres a very good tutorial for beginners with pentool. http://www.melissaevans.com/tutorials/how-to-use-photoshops-pen-tool/1 page 1 explains the pentool and page 2 tells you bhow to cut out using the pentool. The floor the girl is standing on, remove it and make her feet stand in the sand, also i dont understand what happened to her feet they are all wobbly

The mill arms that are still vissible you can cover up by using parts of the mill with the same structure. copy past and even flip parts that you can use.

If you work on these things then you can really have a nice scene here good luck

avatar Drivenslush

author, as Elad has said, you have a very winning concept here, but the Hi Res shows a LOT of detail that will give you low votes, especially from the more powerful voters... the design is FANTASTIC but the detail needs to be refined.. GOOD LUCK!!!

author says:

Thank you, thanks to you i turn improve Foals

avatar Eladine
Eladine says:

there you go.. is a far better scene now nice job on the mill too to cover up the wings.. the main thing thats bothering now is the cutout of the dafodils they have a black and greyish outline and miss parts in the leafs.

Masking layers to extract the different pieces.Curves and level adjustments made to each layer. Some repair to the forest background done with cloning and some cut and paste work , this repair was to remove a fallen branch in the left foreground of the shot. Cloning and smudging to blend foliage over the feet.

avatar Drivenslush

very cool blend of everything, great job
