Even though I have NO idea what your comments says, I think I know what "Severed Tie" is that you base this one which I comment you for putting into the image without telling us. However, what exactly did you chop??? There's no SBS. It doesn't look like you did anything more than just a desaturated photo on an angle and maybe a filter or two and honestly, it's against the rules and guidelines listed under the photoshop contests. Quoted from the rules and guidelines: "DON'T submit filter-only works. Take time to make something unique, it will increase your chances of winning."

Sorry to play the PXLeyes police but everybody and myself has to abide by the rules and it just makes it more fun for everybody.

@jawshoewhah: there's been some more done than just filter work. Two different images are combined together plus some extra PS work. Apart from that, a SBS is only mandatory when no external sources has been used (but of course they're always welcome).
@author: quite sad image , maybe the person would look more alone if you'd see him more in the background (so that you see that really no one is near him), but that's up to you. Good luck!

Yeah well Like I said earlier an SBS would help. Even in high res, the two sources look too perfectly blended. I guess you can take that as a compliment.

Thank you, all. Golem, I originally WAS going to turn the bun into water. After implementing this, however, I felt that a snowy field had much more of an impact. Simpler, yes, but the plain white fields heighten the sense of lonliness and solitude. With water, there is a sense of exploration and wonder. I just can't think of anything more "vanilla" than snow. Thanks for the feedback, though! I always love how thorough you are with your critiques.
