episode1 :bulbs bikini beach (5 years and 3387 days ago)
The "hat" seems blurry and stretched, try to make it smaller; I'd also remove the overcolor from bikini, it doesn't look natural (I thought she was naked until seeing sbs!), if you want to keep the color, try to cover exactly on bikini's dimension, and use multiply, color or overlay blending.
thanks i just edited it
besides i lvoe the color of bikini
it fits the mood of the entry

Well, I read the indicated tutorial, but I didn't follow it literally. But I hope it's nice...
Thanks to Hunta @ Photoxpress. (5 years and 3391 days ago)
Nice!......looks good to me.
yes, very good example of the theme... LOOK AT THIS IMAGE PEOPLE! great image author!
nice start
Interesting kick-off entry. The face and hand seem too 3D, however, as I think of cubism as really flat -- and likewise all the black creates very distinct background and foreground levels which isn't particularly flat either. I believe the texture in the tutorial was merely meant to reflect the canvas the image is supposedly painted upon. Thus I feel the multiple, non-canvas textures here say 'collage' more than 'cubism' (or maybe this is nouveau cubism?). Also, I don't see the guitar shape, so until I saw your title, I was thinking lute.
coool !! g l
Cubist is as Cubist does.. it is the pulling apart of any subject and reassembling in the abstract after analyzing of course... Great job... many forms.. many styles.. no strict rules..
(placing severe rules on cubism is like trying to put hand cuffs on a stream of water while encased in cement made from oatmeal)
Good luck author
(a Lute and a guitar are BOTH Strings... they are in the same family and they would be placed in the same section in an orchestra)
I agree with Drivenslush. I should have been looser on the stringed instrument...but pianos are stringed instruments and just didn't want to go there The moderators will have final say obviously. I think this is fabulous. Thanks for starting us off with a nice showing. BTW, I look at the tutorial as a guide for beginning PSrs (such as myself) and not meant as the driver of this challenge.
Synthetic Cubism was not so flat. Of course, this is NOT synthetic cubist work, but I saw some paintings in Wikipedia, and some of them are quite recognizable, inside Cubist context. Someone, correct me if I'm wrong.
Author this is a fine piece of work. I see guitar written all over it, a six string classical one as a matter of fact. I do not know where the "lute" observation came from, hard as I try I can't see a lute in this picture. I actually like the textures and the way you have used them...KUDOS
this maybe a master
I like this 1, and it just came to my mind the first time looking at this, this work maybe by a master just like RickyRuckus said,.....good luck... my fav is too
Thank you all, guys! But I'm still learning, you make me blush...
Very very nice clean work author...well done

thanks nishagandhi and tuckinator
GOOD JOB ! G L
This is a great entry only problem I can see with it is it is not following the rules of the contest . . I might be wrong but I don't think so .. " One last restriction is that only one person is allowed in your entry and you can't have the vampire drinking blood from any body. " replace the Dentist with a animal or something lol. dog or a bear that would get ya around that rule.
He's not drinking blood from anyone. i suppose i could cut the focus down to just one person being the focus of the picture... but i didn't get that i couldn't have a vampire and an undead undertaker/dentist. Changing that guy into a bear or an animal takes out the whole POINT of going to a dentist. he wouldn't be at the dentists, would he? he'd be at the zoo or something. and a werewolf is technically still "human" in some aspect. so even that gets tossed out.
Suppose i ask a mod. afterall, they are the ones to make that decision.
A werewolf would be cool and it is a fictional character, But i would red flag your entry to see what the Mods say of this. Good luck Author
Ya its up to them. what I was saying is to still have it as a dentist just replace the head/hands into a animal would kinda still be a dentist lol but not a person. I was gonna make a vampire standing in a line at the DMV but it would have had other people in it
if the dentist is a vampire as well, then he's not "human" right? look at the facial colorization. intentionally pale, which i did alot of work to get to that tone. and in that case only one "person" is in the shot, and 2 vampires.
Ya that might be ok it's up to MOD. I don't redflag images so I would check with a MOD.
red flag sent to moderator. Thank you for bringing it to my attention though IronCow. i do appreciate it. perhaps tonight while i'm bored out of my mind i'll figure out how to turn the other guy into a werewolf. but really, i'm very happy with how the image turned out so i don't want to screw it up. if it can't stay here, i'll just put it up elsewhere.
Very Very Nice!!
Save a copy psd This is cool Author I would save it too.
Ya like I said is a great image. I feel bad bringing it up but at least ya have time to change it. I hate when some one flags it after the deadline and then your screwed.
If all else fails and you have to stick to the silly "only one person" restriction, just crop the pic so all you can see are the hands, which shouldn't be considered a "person".
Very clever and a great image and work, but I would agree there could well be an issue with the one person contest rules.
well i'm waiting on a mod's answer for this...but i'm hoping for the best!
great! and I think the second person is a must!
Better impossible! It makes me laugh, thank u!...
Very cool but the rules are the rules: "One last restriction is that only one person [and that person is the one you're transforming into a vampire] is allowed in your entry...." To my mind, cropping out a second person's face but leaving his/her arms would violate those rules. Creativity is about overcoming constraints, not ignoring them. {Propose a different contest if you don't like this one.}
Excuse me Dan...but I didn't realize I couldn't have two vampires. Or a person and a vampire, as long as that person wasn't being eaten. And to me...a vampire is no longer a person but a part of a different breed all together...just like a person turned werewolf is no longer person but lycan. I acknowledge your opinion as what it is but must you be so rude when voicing it? Read the comments...I already flagged my own entry for the mods to consider. Why waste your time insulting my intelligence by assuming I ignored rules when I clearly stated that I contacted a moderator.
And just because I'm persistant, I've flagged this a second time. Its nothing about not wanting to disobey the rules. I just read it differently and if its not welcome here it will be in my other portfolio. I didn't state I didn't like the contest goal and I am very aware of my ability to suggest others.
it is very nice and good work ,good luck
hehehehe.....second to none idea, perfect finishing.....congrats....
I think you can leave the entry as it is, there isn't any person in the source image and there are only one person and a vampire in the entry btw
HOOORAY!!!! thank you moderators!!
VERY AWESOME.
I think my creativity DID overcome an obstacle, EH?
Great work author and cool humor...BTW i hope he is under anesthetic...this could be painful...
To be honest once again, I think the rules were interpreted quite dubiously. But what comes to the image, it's superb as mentioned several time.
widiar... thank you for mentioning SUPERB following your honest opinion of my dubious interpretation of the rules. obviously i'm not the only person (thats right, person, not undead, not vampire, not werewolf, not ghost or ghoul...but person) that dubiously interpreted the rules in the same manner as i did.
Erathion, thank you for the compliments i love a little twist of humor, even if it is a bit sick. and i don't know if you noticed, but that dental equipment is a bit old..and the count isn't looking all that well... i highly doubt they numbed him for this one.
The mod has spoken. Good luck Author Great chop indeed.
Very nice work author
Kudor and hats off to your creativity. This is probably one of few, if any that I;ve seen more than one vamp in the image and there's activity going on, not just another portrait with fangs and glowing eyes. Well done author! Awesome creativity! Don't need it but good luck all the same
And I'm not surprised to see it's you author. You are truly creative in the field of PS and always getting better. I would seriously be shocked if this did not at least place.
This is great work, author, and good for you for standing up to the naysayers. Every art piece is different, as are the interpretations of the contest. I think you did a fabulous job, regardless of what others think.
Very nice!
Congratulations!
...and your third place, Jade!
And congrats again, for this enter definitely deserved a high placement.
Congrats! again for 3rd. Well deserve

EXCELLENT work here Jadedink!
Both pieces placed but I thought this one was a winner in my eyes.
(and you say you are not a vampire/werewolf/undead...but how do we KNOW this??)
