It looks like there are Saturn type rings for the wisk ball, but they are all behind it, maybe bring lower section to front? Looking good!

A forgotten piece of Greek mythology...
Thanks to Wikipedia for the stature image. Thanks to this tutorial for some techniques for making photos more dramatic: http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/photo-effects-tutorials/how-to-turn-humdrum-photos-into-cinematic-portraits/
SBS will be added soon. (5 years and 3523 days ago)
wouldn't the light be on the other side of the ball??
The light is on the top-left of the ball...the light is coming from the top-left. Think I should emphasise the light more?
no, quite the opposite, you should emphasise the shadows more... shadows and lighting are key, but shadows need work on the bottom right of the ball.. just make it darker so its not all the same lightness
Very impressive! Are the eyes just drawn? They're almost perfect...
nice work.. GL
This is very very nice work, but Atlas image is not usable...
From Wikipedia: "I grant anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law." I've seen pictures used here with the same Wikipedia liscense. What would make it not usable? Is there some hidden copyright that I don't know about? O.o I'll fix the shadows more, thanks, bdesign, as soon as I make sure my picture is okay...
looks very good
awesome work ! the atlas image is NOT copyrighted and it can be used
Thanks, Lamantine. I looked around on the site more and found a few places where entries used Wikipedia pictures with the same copyright. So, yes, should be alright. I'll go ahead with the SBS and extra shading.
To me, the light rays are distracting, but over all I think this is a great image...good luck!
nice

Atlas is the son of the Titan Iapetus and Clymene (or Asia), and brother of Prometheus. Atlas was punished by Zeus and made to bear the weight of the heavens (the idea of Atlas carrying the Earth isn't correct according to the original myth) on his back. One of Heracles's labours was to collect the apples of the Hesperides. Heracles went to Atlas and reasoned with him. Eventually, Atlas agreed to collect the apples, and Heracles was left to carry the weight. Atlas tried to leave Heracles there, but Heracles tricked him and Atlas was left to carry the heavens forever.
I wasn't going to enter this because the other entries are so well done but then I figure, "Hey, someone's gotta come in last place! Why not me!" Just never hurts to try.

Decent chop
Nice entry. Would have liked to see his hands gripping the Earth.
on his back.?????
Good idea. Slightly better in hi-res (spherical nature of the earth more obvious). Lighting a problem: where is the illumination of the earth coming from?
WOW! Atlas looks just like Dexter Jackson!!!
your idea is cool; the only thing I would change is his face expression. Atlas wasn't happy lifting the earth
idea is good
LOL...

The water is at the shore. It would be about a foot deep where the "god" is.
Yeah but this god is a midget from the waist down.
The lighting on top of the plane is wrong compared to where the plane is in the sky.
Very nice.
