Made totally with CS5, the external source image is used as a texture for reflections on the balls. (5 years and 3341 days ago)
Very realistic!
pool balls look very good, the movement is very beautiful
done
too much shadow, good luck!
A game I could never perfect! Great job.
Good choice for the theme. The shadows look more like outer glows and don't anchor the balls to the background, however. I think the intermediate cue ball should be fainter, but probably not to the same degree as the intermediate orange ball since the cue ball is changing direction.
Wonderful that you created the whole thing in PS ... excellent work on that!
Cool idea for reflection in that 10-ball, very nice ps 3D work author.

Very interesting creation and nice selection of colors...Lace part make a small distraction do...Any how, this is very cool work...Best of luck author
Sooooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It might be the background makes it look like that...I might change it. Thank you
Ok..changed the background
Hmm, a kind of Venetian mask! Very beautiful and neatly done.
Thank you
I think you should add some soft texture to the mask itself, it looks a bit too plain. Overall it's really good, great job.
Agree with Akassa but i love it !
this s painting style - not a photorealistic...
I like that this is not a totally symmetrical/mirror image entry. Even if this is not meant to be photorealistic, I do feel that where the lower part of the mask shows through the lace should be stronger.
Very unusual and different concept.
Very nice work ... GL Author
The gold swirls could probably use a little shadow, but overall very nice work, really creative use of source.

the mans arm would also be blurring as it would still be moving while the ball is travelling... also would the ball really be so perfectly round?
Good point on the arm, but the ball would not change shape. Maybe you've never seen a real baseball, but they are "so perfectly round," and do not change shape as they travel through the air ~ They're quite hard little things...
I'd lose the ball image at the pitcher's end, but good idea.
Nice idea..good luck
can you refer me to a link to an actual shot of a baseball being thrown at highspeed with a trail... so that it can dis-prove my comment on that then?...
Very nice work author...Movement is well made...best of luck
I think the blur could benefit from a little curve. Right now it looks like their in space with no gravity. Good luck!

My entry is called "Garuda Fireball" or literally means the "Eagle's Fireball".
I just used the image warp tool to create the spherical object, then the Liquify tool to create the abstract like eagle inside the ball. Then I made it into three layers, with the third layer being set to gaussian blur and red inner glow. The third layer was set to red color overlay.
As for the background, I just used motion blur and set a red color overlay blended into a linear burn effect.
Good Luck in finding the "Garuda" too! He's just hiding somewhere.. =)
And, Please tell me what you think and do VOTE if you like my concept and my work^^ Thank You... (5 years and 3417 days ago)
...I found the Garuda but I don't see the piano. Or the fingers. Or anything that could possily be asscociated with the source picture.
wow, I found the "Garuda", rhinos, and elephants. hehehe. continue to learn with that filter. because it is so amazing.
NIce abstraction. But IMO, I think that in case of a CBR, a sbs would help a lot the voters (well, I suppose everybody wants to see how you used the source image.)
It is a nice image and I do like the background treatment but as gamemastertips points out the image isn't really source dependent. A similar image could of been created from any number of sources. I've always felt that the point of a source contest was to create something unique to that source. Abstracts are nice but I'm more impressed with the clever use of a contest source where you can see the elements of the original image.
BTW you do need to post a step by step, it's required when no outside sources are used.
(see rules and guidelines 5.4)
Thanks a lot for the tips, comments, and compliments.. Will do my best to improve my designs =)
As for the step-by-step, sure.. i'll try to do that too... ^^
agree with spaceranger.
added an SBS now... I'm not so good at making SBS, though...
CBR'd
hahah i like it!

The ball is not blended properly.. It is not a perfect sphere shape. On the bottom left it looks like you've missed a bit and like there is a dint in the ball.. Good luck though
Your right!! I should really go to bed!!
Looks like a normal perspective shot of the ball going towards the goal. Background small, foreground larger. That's how it works.
(Actually the background should be blurred a bit.)
Shading!!!!
