This title amuses me, it was about 40 degrees this day! My model was certainly a trooper!!! I did this for a friend several years ago. I dug it up and worked it a bit more for this contest. (5 years and 3050 days ago)
Whites are a bit blown out in the final version, but at least the tattoo is gone!
I wanted the whites to be blown out, it was an artistic choice
Author, just my opinion. It's still a nice image.
(Especially without the tattoo!).
No offense taken I certainly appreciate your opinion and feed back!!
Very nice final image here, author.

This is a good friend of mine I did a photo shoot for several years back. hope you like it...her :) (5 years and 3050 days ago)
This is beautiful! Exquisite color match to the earrings.
There is the tinist diagonal dark shadow on the side of the nose, and another that is shaped like a small half circle at the inside corner of the eye. I'd lighten those ever so slightly...
thanks, I see what you are saying about the nose, I'll certainly fix that, but I'm not sure what part of the eye you are talking about...the inside corner?
Yes, just above the inside corner and the eyelid crease. It's barely noticeable, but I have hyper color sensitivity, so I see it really well...
really good work, well done
why thank you!
nice work gl author..!!
Why thank you kind sir!!!
looks very very beautiful author

I did a lot of work on this image than you can really tell. Unfortunately I was flattening as I went, not ever expecting to enter it in a contest. So my step by step is going to rather lack luster in terms of number of steps. (5 years and 3050 days ago)
Very elegant!
Thanks! that was my intention!
IMO white should be on the outer edge of the hair, not so much in the middle. Good pic, though.
nice work gl author..!!
THANK YOU!
congrats...

Very nice ... I like it ....
Good Luck Author
I think she is just a touch too dark
thanks kellie! i lightened her up a bit
& thank you bitmap for the fav!
Good job, I like what you did with the lips
The new her looks very South Asian. [Needs to be viewed in hi-res to evaluate properly, IMO.] Her face seems darker than her body, however—and her left-shoulder highlight seems a tad too strong. Also, I don't get why her pearls and shadow also changed along the way (and what is that rain-drop-shaped blotch in the upper left corner?). I wish the SBS explained what was done at each step
The whites of the eyes are too bright. The rest looks good.
(Pearls could be restored to the originals too...).
very nice author
you got realistic and beautiful result
nice author...
nice work, i would try to do the background same as original too..there is still time..gl
nice work
the problem with conversion is that certain facial features are unique for certain ethnicity.. change the skin-tone technique is great... but if you can up that by changing the features to look like a black lady... it would be fantastic
anyways.. this is a great chop
aheman, i was not trying to make her black. im not going to change the face by modifying it..it will look too fake. thanks for your suggestion though.
hi I was surfing the web for changing skin color in photoshop and i came across your entry for this contest. I have seen other tutorials online but this is the most drastic change I have seen (in a good way!) could you give some details on your workflow to achieve this? it would really help with a project i am working on.
Author, if you are "not trying to make her black," then what ARE you attempting in this contest? The theme is "ethnicity," not just "heavy tan color."
Ethnicity goes beyond making the skin dark and the white of the eyes too bright...
The contest description clearly states:
"A beautiful way of exploring different facial features."
What features are you exploring with this entry???
I love what you did author, a little dark thought but it looks beautiful and well done! Best of luck!
with only her skin darkened, she could be Indian. IF in fact the author wanted her to look black/african-american, the nose would probably have to be widened a touch and the lips larger. The way it is though, she looks Indian/Persian or something like that. She is beautiful and the shading is wonderful.

KatanazStock, assuming that you're the same person as the one from DA, you'd know that on the front page of your profile you allow people to use the stock outside DA. I cant say anything about the 1st point, but the 2nd one shouldnt be an issue here.
Author, good luck!
EDIT: KS, feel free to define "commerical and/or profitable use", s'il vous plaît
I believe it would be considered profitable use since this contest pays "1st place: $5
2nd place: $3
3rd place: $2" to the winners
