Oh, my God, it's so big that it seems so near!
UFO made in PS CS3.
PS: Thanks to Patrick Hoesly at Flickr. (5 years and 3580 days ago)
Light source is from upper right, the round shadow wouldn't be there. It's too small anyway...
Kevin, sbs posted right now!
Cute. I personally think the big green glow and the white flare detract. The base flange needs more shadow to be consistent with the shadow on the globe.
it's EVE without a body ...hehehehe.. very cute entry
CMYK, my friend, about the shadow I agree with you, I'll try to fix; but about the craft size... Who said a UFO needs to be huge? The guy is looking through binoculars and think it's big, but...
Haha very cute. I like the added humor with the binoculars and the craft size (it's good tiny!). My only complaint would be is that it's obviously fake, and the contest states to make it as realistic as possible. With a bit more work you could be able to achieve this (only if you want, of course), and you'd have a really clever entry.
Author, I meant the shadow is too small. Just get rid of it if you can't figure out how to do it right. According to the light source, it wouldn't be visible in the pic anyway. Look at the angle of the light on the man.
I changed the opacity of the lights and put a metal texture. How about now?
Hmm better. Maybe try dodging and burning it a bit to make it look more like an orb, and maybe try cutting out a real pane of glass (if you can find a suitable one, of course) to use for the spacecraft. That should make it look pretty realistic if that's what you're aiming for. Also try a bit of guassian blur on the shadow. Shadows tend to be blurred more when they're more distant away from the object casting it.
LOL...the shadow is still wrong...look at the angle of the shadow on the man's hand.
Yes, and the light is coming from the top-right...the makes the shadow correct, no?
Clever. I don't think you need the light glow from the 'foo cause it's broad daylight.
I dunno if he'd need binoculars to see the craft.
It's meant to be a joke, Barnacle.
Yeah, the guy is fooling himself... ;p
lol, and a joke it is.
nice job
Agrees with CMYK46. Shadow is not necessary but better luck next time.

special thanks to creations. (5 years and 3591 days ago)
author.. please supply your sources (even if it is your own picture you have to put a copy of it into your step by step) very on theme image.. hate to see it pulled on a silly technicality
(just go to my stuff, my contests and click the add SBS thingy on the bottom) and up load the original pic and/or source
IT's a shame you couldn't get a more in focus picture. Yeah as Drivenslush said, just stick the pic in your SBS and you will be fine. You have to make an SBS anyways so the mods won't remove it.
nice idea

Nice work.. very believable reflection.. i suggest bumping up the contrast on the bear and its reflection so that it matches its surroundings, but great job!
Thanks for commenting ponti But I think the bears contrast is fine the way it is.
Quite nice. However, I kind of feel that if the bear disappeared but its waterline remained, that waterline would seem to be on a different plane than the concentric waves emanating outward from the bear. [BTW I think the Matthew Stewart background pic you found would be a great addition to anybody's files as an example of how reflections work.]
nice one...gl
Beautiful work, author. I like the way you captured the sun's light on the bear to match the trees also. Good job on the bear's reflection - you even got the underside of its jaw, which seems to be missing on other's work. Adding the moon is a nice final touch.
I'm a believer now!
nice work .......... all the best ...............
