Historically, it was widely accepted that obligate (strict) anaerobes die in presence of oxygen due to the absence of the enzymes superoxide dismutase and catalase, which would convert the lethal superoxide formed in their cells due to the presence of oxygen. While this is true in some cases, these enzyme activities have been identified in some obligate anaerobes, and genes for these enzymes and related proteins have been found in their genomes, such as Clostridium butyricum and Methanosarcina barkeri, among others. However, these organisms are still incapable of growing in the presence of oxygen. There are several hypotheses addressing why strict anaerobes are sensitive to oxygen.~ thanks wikipedia
In theory the first living creatures would have lived in an oxygen ABSENT atmosphere, then the first green plants appeared (most likely Algae), which would have killed all of the first living things on earth, in a cataclysmic life and death conversion. (water being H2O, and oxygen brought death to everything creating whole new carbon base life forms that survive in an oxygen rich atmosphere) (5 years and 3212 days ago)
really nice work! nice creature!
Love the creature in the foreground ... fascinating creation.
Great job, saw the SBS is not for anyone!
Fantastic creation author...blue splash is amazing...best of luck
thanks erathion, but it's going to take a whole lot more of "luck" for me to get anywhere LOL
Tons of patience doing this contest, nice work, good luck
Well done, good luck!
Nice work - and it comes with quite a science lesson as well!!
Wildly creative! Love the way you used the rocks around the creature's face, and how you made the body. Step 17, the creature and the disk it sits on could make a really cool pond sculpture. Interesting theory and bio lesson, too.

Very nice in high res! GL author.
Would fit in well framed in a contemporary high rise apartment. Nice job, good luck!
Great work...it's beyond surreal. It made me smile...since at first I thought they were crash test dummies being used to test park benches. It then became thought provoking. Nice job!
lovely creation, I love how the one figure is walking into the masses .. good luck!!!
very neat intelligent work....instant fav from me author...best of luck
Really strange... I like it!!
Good luck!
nice image!! very original entrie! GL
Great creativity and execution
WOW!
Absolutely fascinating image ... you have created a unique and diverse piece here ... it has a subtle message and I am going to fav it so I can keep coming back and see if I can figure out what it means (to me).
Just love it...simple but very impressive
Very modernistic approach, clever work, author. I'm not sure what it means, but that's what makes it true art!
Beautiful work here... love the dummies and the way you used your imagination to create this entry. GL
Nice , surreal feeling to this and very well done.
Congrats!!
congratulations...

Pretty song
So I decided to make a pretty picture to match it :) (5 years and 3224 days ago)
very very nice composition author...great colors too...u did fantastic work at start with good desaturation and good reflection...best of luck
3 Links set into place as per MOD request, link to artist's website... link to Wiki... link to his credit..hope that fixes the problem
Only problem I see is the color from the moon in the background overlaps the moon which is in the foreground. Fix that and I see no problems. Good luck!
I think I got it Chalty... you have awesome eyes
author looks nice, but shouldnt the moon on the far right have a reflection just as the one on the left?
Very unusual and creative take on subject.

The "wild swans" sign looks too disjointed from the image, It would be better without the framing, and the "space flower" text is too dominant, taking away from the "melting blue delicious," which is what the image does a fabulous job of conveying.
In short, the text is hurting this image.
It's an Eighties cover MossyB (I have hundreds of them) and it works perfectly fine for me, Sorry I disappointed you so much, I'll try to make it better next time (The Wild Swans is the name of the band, Space Flower is the name of the Album, Melting blue Delicious was the name of the song)
hahahahaha...cool...wild swans....i imagined that sign how swim like a swan and ask for food from the people around the lake...lol...sorry author i am a bit cracked...GL
I'm not familiar with that song or group, but that's definitely an 80s look!! Well done, and I can say that from experience.
Sorry, MossyB, but maybe you're just too young to appreciate this style of art - and yes, it IS a style. Well done, author.
What are those chocolate things??? Reminds me of some peanutbutter-chocolate cheesecake pops I made once......
