Guardian of the Skies.
The ramp source has been OK'd by Rob. A couple of the images are in a Gallery, so I put down their gallery numbers.
SBS has been updated to reflect changes. (5 years and 675 days ago)
This is a well put together chop, lots of imagination and work put into it. Be that as it may, there is something about the shadows bothering me. Specifically the tones and consistency. It seems to me that those gun turrets, the ropes from the balloons, and the side of the ship need some shading. Also, I'd think there would be some shadows cast onto the fog from the different elements in the scene.
I like the mood you're trying to set, a few tweaks would bring it over the top IMHO.
Good luck.
Thanks Ichappell. I re-did a bunch of things. Too much to type out but it is all written out in the first step of the SBS. TY for the suggestions. I didn't do any fog shadowing though.
Nice changes, especially those cables/ropes holding the balloons.
I really like the surreal dream like quality to this chop and I'm not so sure about shading because without it the end result is otherworldly. It is only an opinion on my part.
Image has been updated. the old version is in the SBS if you want to compare.
I read you SBS....HOLY CRACKERJACKS you need to get paid! HELLO ADMINSTRATION ! ! !
Thank you so much for being here, you are another great teacher.
Holy crackerjackers. Do you really say that in real life? BTW I do have Paypal.
It should sell well.....naw, I usually say "crap".
Play with the levels and curves maybe.
Thanks for your help with this. I didn't know what you specifically meant by "Play with the levels and curves", but I did darken the entire boat/sub some with Curves.
Congrats BW
Congratulations.... good job
Congrats!

Fastest Nasa shuttle in the galaxy. Wanted t take the race boat image and change up to a space scene, tell me what you think?. (5 years and 835 days ago)
Please fix links 2 and 3. They don't lead to images. The background looks like an illustration and wouldn't be useable in any case.
Ok fixed the 2 links, should be able to see all sources now.
As I thought, source 3 is a render, and not useable. When using DA for source material, always use this link, which will take you to the stock section. http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/resources/stockart/ Even then, some images will be renders or premade backgrounds, which are not valid sources. You have plenty of time to find a useable background and revise your entry.
Ok thanks
Author, please link all sources to the page that shows the copyright and usage information, not the download pages.
All right changed it, let me know if anything else needs changed?
Thank you for fixing this
No problem.
Maybe have the exhaust shooting out from an external sourced rocket engine or even an engine from a fighter jet. Perhaps you could mask off the boat's engine to resemble one. Also the windows of the cockpit are blue and the sky is black in your Chop. That's an easy fix. Just "mask out" the blue parts of the windows. Then in your "Mask Properties", lower the "Density" a bit to allow some of the winnow to show through. You may or may not have to mess with a Hue/Sat adjustment to darken the Blue color of the windows. This way it will look like there is some glass in the cockpit, but it will be see-through and you will see the black sky behind it. The bottom of the boat is white. You may want to color it orange so the rocket color looks more consistent.
Hi BWR, thank you for your helpful pointers on the adjustments, let me test out and see what i can do about those things.
I changed the cockpit window to have the space background and added colour orange to the bottom of the boat, but still wanted to keep the engine the same from the boat to give that parody of the difference from a boat scene to a space scene. Hope you like it.

The ghost of a pirate who got stranded on a desert in a dust storm. (5 years and 1292 days ago)
I really like what you have done here, particularly with the flaking paint texture, however I feel the dark lower section of the hull looks a little odd because the paint isn't flaking.
Thank you Madamemonty. It is now.
It's better but, I think if you followed the curve of the timbers rather than the painted dark section it would be more effective.
Like that?
Thank you for your kind and helpful suggestions.
Where's Johnny Depp? hehehe.. great job
Thank you.
You make me smile.
That looks much better
Congrats on third place

Don\'t go whale fishing in a storm. (5 years and 1292 days ago)
Oh dear Great job
congrats on scoring... Girl Over Board!
Thanks. The lady who fell overboard might not agree that she scored very well but the whale might have scored a good meal.

Nice job on the water.
Thanks CM. I am more impressed with the shoes laces rebuild.
But yea, if I had to do it again I would have picked a different image to rebuild the water with. I did a bit of painting to make the water blend as well as masking in parts of the external water. I mostly work in Frame Animation in PS and had 5 different versions of the water that were all good.
I was busy this weekend and voted on the Island contest. I was going to take my time Sunday and vote on the Boots contest but I got involved with something else and forgot to vote on it. My bad. I would have voted your entry the highest and I have an over 5 voting power. So it probably it skewed the voting. Am happy to see that the boots contest at least had 4 good entries.
Wow a 48.1%. I am out of here. See you guys.
B, I'm sorry but as you know I'm travelling, so I watch the entries in Pxleyes with a small tablet. I don't vote though as I can't see enough, it is too small. By mistake I touched the wrong place on the left side, I suppose it gave you a bad vote. I ticked the mods and explained my mistake, but now I'm not sure they took it into account. Anyhow it is not only your vote that is too low, have a look! Please, please, please don't go. I'll be back soon.
