I created the drops in a mask, copied and blurred it.
Copied the blurred watch channel in a new document and saved it as a texture.
Used a black and white picture (desaturated) and strechted it out over the background, blurred it and applied the glass filter with the saved texture. Put distort at maximum and a slight smoothness.
Cut out the non watch parts and then applied a bunch of layer styles to get the fluidlike effect. (5 years and 3589 days ago)
I am working on the guide but accidentally deleted step 3, so i guess i have to start over. Ill do it as soon as possible.
Cool (varm) idea
Hmm... Delicious! Makes me wanna eat this watch immediately Good work and great SBS! And good to know, that I'm not the only one, who is always "happy" when Windows suddenly decideds to reboot
Yes i agree, i think i will make a melting windows system soon. Thanks for the comments. The guide will be updated soon, at work atm so i cant do anything to update it. The original step 3 is missing, and the last few still need to be added.
Don't forget to credit author of the tutorial that u used...
@Erathion: What are you saying? I've been covering more things in goo the last few years, this one is no different.
This technique that u use Mark Monciardini show's on his DVD course Photoshop Top Secrets-Liquid metal...I think that the image of the castle is the same...Sorry if i wrong but i think that technique is the same.
They showed that on a DVD ? lol. And someone bought it ? lol
I learned this technique from a friend a while back, and it was used to make a chrome effect he said, and indeed it worked.
I really dont know if he got it from a dvd.I'll ask him when i see him again.
Edit: The guide is finished now
good chocolate efect!
Looks cool!

Genius! well-thought and well-executed~!
Very nice and cool idea. The only thing maybe is that you should work with the "BOY"-text so it have the same perspective as the camera. But I def. like the lense a lot, and how you used the sources overall.
Royal Cam... Love it...!
Very nice work...high resolution would be great...good luck author

Interesting work on the background.
Funny and good !
nice work
nice work author
good luck
Why no SBS? I think many, myself included, would like to know how you handled the background. Is it a painting? GL
im to lazy for to do a sbs. lol. but the back is some forest picture i found. i changed the colors and added some distortion with some layer effects and opacity changes. the back ground has 2 layers that give it a weird wavy effect and then the glowing lines is just that glowing lines filter in photoshop cs3. but yea there you go artgirl!!!!!
Thanks for the explanation. It's really not that hard to do an SBS if you save often in a folder for contest you are working on, numbering your saves along with an explanation of what you added in each step. I save each step as a PSD and also as a JPeg. Wish I had more than Adobe 6 to work with, though. Will watch for more of your work. GL
