Nice image, good blend of sources, but i feel like the background distracts from the baby monarchs. I think the original background work work better than a fractured background. Still, a great blend, and i think the strong colours suit the image. Good luck!

Fun and colorful. The background is maybe a bit too intense, distracting some from the butterflies. I wish the butterflies had differing expressions and leg positions to give them more individuality beyond just hue.

I really like the butterflies, but i think your background is a bit weak, I would suggest finding a real sky source, there are plenty out there and good give this a touch of realism, and also the tree is "over masked" and some of the branches seem a bit thin. Nice work withj the butterflies though, very beautiful.

Drop shadows don't work...what would they be cast on if the butterflies are flying among reeds?

But they aren't in the image, they are on the image. If I wanted them in the reeds I would use blending and masking. I have a picture like this at home, a printed image on a cloth with silk applications.

Again, it wasn't my intention to have the butterflies "in" the image. In this case I would have used a different blend mode. I wanted them "on top" of the image.

I got your intention Author, your butterflies are lodged ON the picture you created with metal beams. Even so you should work on the shadows since the butterflies bodies are on the picture, but their wings are in the air. Nice work anyway
