Fountain of Youth - created by skyangel

Besides the sources used, I used only photoshop brushes to paint in the water and splashes on the fountain.I used sqirlz program to create the pond ripples. http://www.xiberpix.net/SqirlzReflect.html.
There are 80 frames in this animation.
The quality seems poor, I think because I lowered the settings to make the file approx 5mb.
How do some of you manage to get 150 frames in an animation and still end up with a final file of approx 5 mb?
This is the first animation I have ever done in photoshop so any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. (5 years and 1159 days ago)

The perspective of the small fountain doesn't match that of the larger one.

author says:

It would be very helpful if you had some tips on how to match perspective properly but thanks for your observation.

Scaling would work to change the size of the ellipses.

(5 years and 1158 days ago)

The small fountain appears to be tilting towards us because the ellipses are too open. See this link for tips about ellipses in perspective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMRhuUQREMQ

Thank you for the video link spaceranger. It is most helpful. I will try not to make the same mistake next time.

Nice work, a lot of effort.

author says:

Thank you. I did each frame individually and it took ages, but I am still not 100% happy with the end result.

lchappell says:

Did you use the add-on and set your perspective in Photoshop, or spin it on the "Squid" site?

(5 years and 1158 days ago)

author says:

I had to spin it on the site because my version of photoshop is not compatible with the add on.

glad that you got your entry in.. you did a great job. think you can teach me a thing or 4

author says:

I doubt it. I hardly know what I am doing yet when it comes to making animations in photoshop. Just fumbling my way through whatever tutorials I manage to find.
Its a fun learning experience though.

you and me both

author says:

I find it hard to believe that you are beginner at animation. If these are a sample what you start with, you will only improve. You have set a very high standard.

Interesting image. Might be better rotated 90 degrees clockwise so the hair wouldn't look like it's defying gravity.

I wanted to attempt to use nothing but the provided source. This is what I came up with. The head and nose used 3d rendering, everything else came from source only. (5 years and 2959 days ago)

Looks good, good idea for the use of this source. I really like the Butterfly in its "blue " state like the version in your SBS, It might look good with one of the blue ones in the finished work. Nice job overall.

author says:

Thank you! It was tougher than I thought it would be.

So creative! LOL @the bite marks on the leaf, and the caterpillar's mouth. I, too, like the blue butterfly in its 3D looking state.

Great work! The teeth are a nice, understated touch. I also like the pinkish-violet hues in the middle of the ears. It's a good contrast with the yellow, makes the image feel all the more lively.

Hilarious concept (and your son looks adorable!), great blending, coloring and texture matching. Love that you used only the two teeth, but the original version would make a great image, too. I hope the caterpillar isn't eating your veggies.
