nice work -- hi res does show some bleeding around the edges -- maybe try using an Un-sharpening filter to sharpen the edges of the image then do the colour on that

Excellent idea!! Try to isolate desaturated caterpillar better (more precise) from colored environment, You can still see desaturated background around its body.
