Beautifully done...nice deviation from source.I like your vision. Nice color usage too. Love the reds and greys.
This is my Christmas holiday wish to everyone at pxleyes and all those who enjoy it so much. I wanted to name it Dance of the Sugarplum Dragonflies, but not enough room. Thanks to OldGreySeaWolf at morguefile.com for the inspiring photo of the reed relections used for the background. The only other outside source was a reference photo of a dragonfly by takekha at morguefile.com, but portions of 'room' source were used to do the dragonflies, as well as heron, Christmas flowers, berries, leaves, and all bird feathers. Please see SBS. (5 years and 3658 days ago)

This is one of those entries that drive me crazy. It's a beautiful image, but you could have made this from a multitude of sources. The given source is unrecognizable.
They have driven me crazy as well!!! This is the very first time I've done one of these and really enjoyed it thoroughly. Just didn't care much for the sources offered.
This is really beautiful work, but I just hate when people take some minor parts and transform it into something that has nothing to do with it. You could've done this even if the source was a blank white image. It shows skills, but these kind of images are more suited to a theme contest than to source... =/
Basically, you chopped it beyond recognition. I've seen it done on a regular basis. I think it's a matter of opinion gut yeah you could have used anything.
Nice result but a very poor use of source. IMO these types of images belong in theme contests not in source contests.
nicly done! gl

I got the idea while making a christmas card for my sister. The girl on the picture is her daughter and own stock.
Thanks to Christian Johnson, Janick Grave, Robert Radermacher, Melanie Kuipers, Nancy Brammer, Barry Meyer, Claudio Maciel, Teodora Vlaicu, RAWKU5 and Christian Johnson for the lovely stock. (5 years and 3661 days ago)
Sources will follow soon
if the presents is going to fly ai think i would give them a bit motion blur to make it look realistic. either nice. tho the kid is veeeeeeeery huuge :o
I really like the concept! It's the spirit of Christmas! I love the way the pic of Santa is holding 'the magic'. The darkening makes the image more unique. I do agree with maXed about the blur, but also understand it's not supposed to convey the gifts actually 'flying'...maybe make the shadows from the gifts less circular and more oblong. I would suggest also to make the far left red gift's shadow a bit darker since it's closer to the ground...and make the other shadows varying lighter opacities. Just a thought...nice work and real cute kid. Sorry for such a long comment...
No problem, thx for the advice, i'll try to fix it.
Looks cool to me I guess you made the changes
Nice image mate, Red parcell looks like a huge 4 pin atx connector thought LOL
