Great start for the contest!! I think you just need to adjust your bowl reflection to make the left side bulge out some more - it makes the apple look very flat along that side!

both sides of the reflection looks flat, if you can correct this you've got a really good entry. Maybe by spherizing the reflecting you get a better result to start off the reflection, then use a distortion map to match the apples shape. Just a suggestion

It looks good, but be consistent, the reflection can't be black and white when the foreground isn't.
