Gets a bit purple out there, too, don't it?
Far far away on a planet unknown to humans, stands an ancient staircase leading up to the heavens amidst a beautiful scene of a galaxy swallowing a planet whole!!

You would have done well to find pictures of galaxies instead of the brushes you used. I am a supporter of using brushes to enhance an image, however I do think that some of them tend to miss the mark. There are tons of awesome astral photography shots in creative commons on flickr if you look, and perhaps in the future that will be something you consider.

thanks to xx Stacey xx @ dA for the model stock, and flashtucka@dA for brushes.
my first attempt at this. there aren't too many tutorials out there to teach how to do this effect. seems they all repeat themselves. So i just mixed a few things from each of the tuts and added my own spin to them.
i do realize my model stock is one widely used, but i liked the "frozen" look to her face.
**UPDATED**
changed the icicles to form more to the face. took the ice effects off of the nose and lips as it didn't conform to what i was wanting. Might change it again yet... :P not quite satisfied still.
Thanks to Le-Rain@deviantart for the winter brushes i modified a bit. (5 years and 3286 days ago)
Great job! She definitely gives off a "frozen" vibe.
Interesting, but the icicles are made to different scales, and the ones beneath the eyes would curve to the proportions of the face.
Could you make some parts of her hair looking frozen by placing highlight here and there?
my original thoughts on this contest was ice man from the marvel comics...however, i can't seem to find any tutorial that even comes close to doing what i want to do with my entries.
i have been reworking this piece a bit, and will upload the edited version as soon as i have it done..likely tomorrow morning, as i'm at work and can't do much with it here.
WOW!!! This for sure is going to the fav box!
thanks MnMCarta
I did update the image...added a few things.
any other suggestions or critiques will definitely be taken in to account, as i'm still not quite sure its exactly what i was wanting. :P
awesome job!
You said you want her to be like Iceman ? Like this : http://xmendiaries.ibelgique.com/encyclopedie/characters/images/iceman03.jpg ?
Don't ! She's too hot for that ). I would insist on her hair. Check this: http://static.desktopnexus.com/thumbnails/149283-bigthumbnail.jpg See the contrast between the highlights & darkshines ? You could experiment with that, but it's already an awesome entry. Stacey will be proud
great job......
Cool effects, the eyes look so sad
Thanks so much everyone!
I agree with all the comment that imply you should have put more ice effect into her.
Now I'm surprised to see it's you. But I think you know which one i really like
Still an impressive shot! GL!

Awesome, and great SBS = )
Your silly author... (absolutely brilliant and talented) but still silly (great job!!!)
nice work
lol good one Author
Beautiful drawing as always! But I'd like a more subtle shading for nose.
She has hair under her chin :P Good creation of the girl but it doesn't really fit the image. Gl
beautiful eyes,......think I am falling for her....
good drawing author !! g l
Why do I have the feeling this was supposed to be CMYK parody at first?
Overall nice image! There are some key points that distract from the whole image. There is a masking issue on the left side of the face and there are parts of the old mans hand and hair underneath your drawing. Good luck!
EDIT: Much better
I made some changes! Thank u all for your comments!
Good work
Top entry for sure...well done author
Gorgeous!

great concept author with nice touch of humor...u could position some object on wooden column, because woman look in that direction....hmmmm raven fits perfectly and with that, title could be changed in something like " I saw you"....just an idea....
wonderful.....just as an idea you can place a crow on the wooden column...GL
Thanks, Neb and animany0000!
I added a vulture on the column and a skull with a hole on its forehead - that means she's not primary!
The figures in the scene need some shadow to ground them in the image. Also try colour matching them with the source image. GL
the people look like cut outs
