Nice clean chop, but the rocket exhaust doesn't look like it's coming from beneath the ship, but rather the side nearest the viewer.
Fun swirly whirly effect just love the lighting
Placing the upside down "house" top point infront of fire blast then experimenting with removing with a circular erase brush might help make and add to an illusion of the fire coming out of the saucer/house. At the moment, it looks like the exhaust is kind of floating in front of the spaceship and not coming out of it from the bottom.
The people and car are spectacular, the texture effect is awesome. The clouds as well. Great Job!

Motion blur should only be behind the ship, not in front.
there is motion blur only behind the ship, what you see as motion blur is air friction as it is starting to enter the atmosphere

The Shark Cup is Great ... but the OOF stacked cups in the foreground are distracting and IMO take away from the overall image ...
The black blob on the left of the yellow cup is distracting....not sure why its there. Really nice job on the shark though. Good Luck!

My first thought for this contest was to wake a lightbulb balloon! This just seemed like a very steam punk-ish thing to do so I ran with that :) (5 years and 3084 days ago)

Very fun and creative steampunk approach to this contest.
I don't get the mixture of taut cables (clearly supporting the gondola hanging from the balloons) and flaccid cables between the balloons and the gondola. And the small balloon's connection point to the gondola is very odd.
The horizon line of the balloon bottoms is down (albeit different horizon lines for each balloon) while that of the gondola is up.
Notwithstanding the title on source 4, I find the ship more wreck than steampunk.

You're a maniac. In the best way, of course...
Sometimes these take a life of their own. I could try to make a happy scene by a lake and end up with something dark and gloomy.. or even an elephant juggling zebras. This one came out as planned. Never any real struggle. It just all came together. Well I did struggle a bit making the body of the vehicle look rounded, then I slapped on like two strokes of a dark color and it was a miracle.
