I saw an entry with water effect, how about fire :D?
This image of phoenixes I made for other contest, and this contest gives me chance to bring it to Pxleyes. Every comments and suggestions are very welcome.
Credits comes to: Falln stock, Greencheck, Sitara Leota stock, Felixdeon, and dark dragon stock on DA, the other stocks are from Flickr, under the Creative Commons, adaptable.
Actually it's hard to recognize all the nebula photos from the final picture, but when I started, I had no idea what the last product will look like, so I still use them.
I didn't make the detail SBS for this work but I have the animated work in progress that you can see in the SBS, hope this helps.
To create the fire, I basically used the brush to paint, and use the fire pattern which can be download from here: http://www.obsidiandawn.com/fire-photoshop-patterns. I also use some smoke brushes to enhance the effect http://photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-downloads/photoshop-brushes/real-smoke-photoshop-brushes.html (5 years and 3347 days ago)
awesome entry and great colors

I like this very much! I can see the Yin/Yang of your concept, the eternal struggle of contradicting elements. Beautiful image!
Every single detail in this entry is a master piece...I was always wondering how u achieve perfect blend without using color adjustment layers...Perfect compilation of different sources, great imaginary and top notch execution...Again my friend, well done...And of course, instant fav from me...

Thanks everybody, I'm glad to know that you like it. @spaceranger: I didn't start this project with the concept of Yin-Yang but finally I came to it, undoubtedly this is one of the most wonderful thing in the world IMO. @erathion: actually I use the gradual changes in the background to help reducing the contrast of the two colors. @RayTedwell: thank you for that compliment, I got many suggestions from that contest and I changed it, they're right, I think this piece is improved .

Cute! lol
Really need to see this in Hi Res and on a decent sized screen to get the true impact ... a fun image!
This is not a good town for psychedelic drugs. Extremely menacing vibrations are all around us.
cool work...nice work with the water
LOL, I can relate - used to cry in the car on the way to swim lessons when I was little. Thanks to my parents to forcing me, though.
