its lovely, and a great shot to start with...however, i do think your flesh tone is a bit orange. (could just be me, but i think it should be a tiny bit pinkish)
and another way of colorizing photos, use blank layers overlayed on the original image with the blend mode set to "color" and then put different colors on individual layers.

LOLOLOLOLOL..very funny (love the source name.. cheeky 2 LOL) You may want to add shadow cast on the baby's forehead for realism and the ring could be drawn with the OVAL MARQUEE tool and then stroked for a cleaner effect.. but the overall design is wonderful.. this is just a very wonderful and cute Idea.. good luck

Funny , perhaps you can have a look at the elliptic line around the head. Use a path as oval, rotate it the way you like and then stroke the path with a color. Also, right now the line goes through his head instead behind. Unless you prefer that, otherwise you might want to remove that. Good luck!
