Done with Adobe Photoshop with Wacom Cintiq plus a little help from Adobe Illustrator.

You're not being totally truthful, here, Author.
It is a Digital TRACING that is painted, not a true Digital Painting.
You did not freehand the subject, you traced it.
That is not to take away from the beauty of the image, just a point of clarification, as tracings, like reference images and tutorial studies, should be labeled as such when entered into competitions.
so much work done, but imho it's not worth the result.... good luck!
@ MossyB & Androla: What should I do then? Am I really need to clarify it with the video?
Or maybe I change the title to Digital Tracing? So it's worth to compete? Or should I just remove it anyway.
To clarify everyone. I'm a Wacom Cintiq user, I'm not making a trace of anything so easily. IF the looks of it comes to sneaky to your eyes and not the perfection that should be, then I'm absolutely take my responsibility for mod to remove it. I'm very sorry of making things uncomfortable.
I red-flagged because I need Mod to join our discussion. Thanks.
i never told you to remove your entry nor i didn't say it's bad, and i don't really care whether it is a painting or tracing.... it's all up to you!!! and i REALLY think that your image is worth to take part in this competition. and frankly speaking i don't understand why are you so nervous about the comments?
Androla, I didn't mean to point my 'nervous' comment towards you nor I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. It's just me & my tired expressions that force me to write such a comment.
You have my sincere apology, but frankly I'm really don't understand about your 'it's not worth the result.... ' statement above. = |
well, that is just my subjective point of view, i liked up to the 3rd step.... you toiled so much on this entry... and i didn't mean to offend you.
Thank you, Androla. I'm no offend you too. It's just me with my temper. Please, forgive my rudeness of comments before. I would like to be friend with you if you don't mind & let's left what's behind that matters. = )
it's ok
Love is in the air!!! Now you two go get a room! hehehehe.. nice job author, looking good
Drivenslush. You're such a jerk. LOL! XD
Mind if I add you to the 'party'? 3-some awesome. LOL!!
I'll pay for the Penicillin shots afterward LOL
You don't have to. It's my treat, my friend. Fair enough, eh?
Anyway... nice profile picture you got there, man. So disturbing. ROFL. >=P
About the comment section: Geezus ; about the work: nice artistique effect. i'm not sure about the text though - maybe another font/style or maybe something else instead of it. GW none the less.
Author.. chill... hehehe... You are good... Every eye has it own impression... This is art and you made it... That's what matters... Good luck to this entry... PEACE all... hehe...

Nice idea author. I remember a movie Robert Downy Jnr made that was based around a bus that picked up the dead, loved it...
Goodluck
very nice work author...this is very lovely image...best of luck
Emotional and deep image ... bravo!
Thanks Keiley, erathion and arca for yours beautiful comments.
realy like this, has a good feel
i love the mood.... great job ......
Great mood and very effective lighting, my only problem is the size of the grass.. the source photo was taken at a low angle which make the girl look tiny. Either way it's a problem i can easily overlook. Great concept and good luck!
I love this image. I too find that there are several problems with proportions, the bus looks almost threatining having this size, the bag is too big for the tiny hands to carry and I agree on the grass.
On the other side I think all of this "out of proportion" adds to the surrealistic, the dreamy aspect, gives it a very special kick. Well done and good luck!

The edges of the weave are too "hard," making it look like like rectangles floating at different heights, rather than integrated.
in my opinion is a good effect
I agree with mossy, it doesn't look like weaving, the shadows on the vertical blocks is wrong for that. Check the tutorial again and see how they have done it. Unless you have purposely made it like floating blocks, which is still a nice effect.
Great effect ... I agree, it doesn't look like weaving but you have created a whole new look
I think to get a more woven look you would have to darken the strips where the go under the other strip (the strips would be darker as the go further away/under. Great tut to try! I would like to give it a whirl sometime!
i like the effect
Nice execution! But yeah, it probably could of been given some more attention to detail. GL!
Great work author...gl

This entry reminds me of the TV series "Breaking Bad" and the desert was a really nice touch. GL!
I'm with you Josh, I thought the same thing - one of my absolute fav shows btw!
Nicely executed chop too, has a familiar style to it...
Mine too! As well as Dexter and Weeds.
Very Good!
Thank you guys!
really like it
effect is superb
really like it
effect is superb
Excellent job with lighting and making those headlights weathered. Nice work!
All credit to you, I had wrongly attributed this piece to one of our more famous PS artists here, and I was genuinely surprised to see it wasn't theirs - the style is very similar. Trust me this is a compliment to your work!
Oh and Josh, I understand Dexter, my other favourite show, but Weeds, really that's a bit predictable for you isn't it?
Thank you guys for all the comments!
And Ray, thank you! I'm new here, I really found your previous comment a little strange, but did not think it was the similarity in style with another person. I do not know who he is, still do not know many people here!
Thank you for your attention!
And forgive my bad English!
Very very nice work author...Great blend and perfect mood...well done
Great work on a difficult source.
I genuinely love this image. Very intense lighting.. fantastic work. And welcome to the site! I look forward to seeing more and more of your work
