This was done using brightness/contrast adjustments, screen mode layers, curves, levels, color overlay for blue sky, lots of masking of various areas, some dodge and burn. I haven't made an SBS because I changed and deleted too many layers before I got an end result with which I was happy. (5 years and 805 days ago)

After the Great Sorrow, scientists devised protective Dome Encasements for many metropolitan areas. These extended well underground, and were totally self-sustaining, with nuclear fusion reactors and water capture and recycle reservoirs. When the planet core fractured, these "potted populations" found themselves adrift in space, hoping to find a new home... (5 years and 3158 days ago)

I like this entry a lot author...nice imagination. I have one small suggestion that might make a big difference. Perhaps try and lighten the right side of each 'city' and slightly darken the left. This will further help validate that bright light source on the right that creates a highlight on each sphere.

Looks good, especially the bubbles. I'm gonna try out that technique!

Interesting take author, but you need a SBS to show how you made this...it's a minimal use of the source.

cool, but I have to agree with CMYK there ...

avatar Govindrathod

I would agree that the source usage is minimum. You could have done better. Your idea though is nice...

Underwater Domes - created by k5683

Underwater Domes
Favs: 0SBS: 27Hi-resRank: 3/3Score: 50.8% (30)8135 views

Underwater domes with tubes going up to the sky for air and for travel to other domes. Some have cities, some have trees, some have corn, some have water treatment systems, and some have brick walls that the government has put up that none of us know what is in it. The real question is though: who made these domes and how did they know to make them?

Please be easy on me, this took a long time to do.

No outside sources other than the tubes that came with PSP7 automatically (buildings, corn)

******SORRY MODS BUT IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO MAKE THE SBS AND UPLOAD IT***************** It was only entered 27 minutes ago :O :)) (5 years and 3602 days ago)

If you don't want the mods to get on your case about not submitting your entry without the SBS then use the "Publish entry later (via 'my contests')" option when uploading your entry. This way you can create an SBS and submitt your entry at the same time and never get another email from the mods or comments asking "Where the eff is your SBS", just don't forget to publish it. I understand you spent a lot of time but it appears to lack depth. The only thing that makes this look like it's underwater is your description. Try adding shadows, distort the tubes inside the domes. Add some buildings, maybe underwater terrain and sea life. More detail.

author says:

jawshoewhah, I usually don't have a problem with it taking so long to upload the SBS and mods have never said anything before when the SBS wasn't with the entry at the very exact moment--uploaded together. I wasn't bitchin anyway to them nor do I have a problem, I was just saying sorry to them and I was surprised it had been flagged already.

Well now you know how to make sure it never happens again. It's not a bad idea because you can always double-check your entries like typos and correct source image links before submitting.

author says:

yeah, I knew it was there but never used it. I think I will from now on just so the mods don't have more work Thanks Jawshoewhah
