i thought i would leave it without arms cause its a living cartoon contest , i had leave it this way to keep it so real as possible cause ducks doesnt have arms but if there s more people that think that way that he needs arms i would think about it to change it , and for the hat i ve look for the donald duck hat but didnt get a good one ..............more comments about the arms are welcome they would help for a better result

Thankyou for the comments and Dan, you were right. I've removed the soda and moved the denture glass into it's place. I had been thinking of doing that as well, but your suggestion convinced me to go ahead. Hope it looks ok now.

The mug looks like it's floating because it doesn't have a little shadow around its base -- see the bottoms of the condiment dispensers or even the near edge of the flatware. (BTW if you have a glass mug, you could put water in it and position it in front of a checkerboard to see which edges are actually transparent [rim and outer handle edge not so much] and how the curved, thick-glass handle and the water distort the checkerboard.)

Thankyou again Dan for the suggestions, I repaired the shadow on the mug and made the handle and edges of the cup more opaque. Thankyou everyone else for your kind comments

Beautiful looking kitty and a great duck as well...If the duck and cat would have been a little more closer in the image, it would have been much better.....and you would require a little bit of better blending in that as well but would look awesome...

anarchick: The orange thing on the duck's head is the required plate, but your confusion raises the question whether the "clearly recognizable" criterion has been met for that random item.

You did a good job on the feathers and fur! I think the hat needs a sharper edge and the hammers perspective is a bit off. Overall nice blend.

I always admire a person willing to enter a contest. You spent time figuring out the outcome of your image. I see that the duck and hammer are over sized. Make them smaller to go with the surroundings. Add some shadows and some highlights to the body of the duck and plate. Good luck.

Ivan, that kind of comments "crap" or whatever you might call this entry, is not good, for the improvement of the author, instead of using that kind of language, you can give a constructive comment and suggestion. I am sure, the author, will appreciate it.

It would be better if you made cooked duck on a plate with a hammer in its broken teeth, but this is a nice idea too.

Looking at lighting source, your shadows must be a little darker, and run to the left. Duck has a fine white outline that you must take off...

A cormorant isn't a duck.

try to fix the shadows...

Create few more layers for better blending...with this light my advice is:first dark blue overlay layer,second,dark brown color layer and then maybe,but just maybe gold color or soft light layer.Of course play with opacity...just an idea author...good luck

Lots of sources mean lots of work, I admire that. I noticed the duck has a halo around it. A quick fix is to ctrl click on the layer to select it. Then go to select/modify/contract. You will only need a couple of pixles. Then just inverse your selection and hit delete. Good luck.
