Good one...if you showed what made that bite, it would be REALLY freaky!
Thanks to woodleywonderworks for the picture of the earth. (5 years and 3321 days ago)

agree with CMYK46 and you should add more details like the after effect of the bite
I think bitten edges should match with the continent, clouds and the ocean parts...
Great use of the source, I do agree with the other guys though....although not essential it just seems to be missing something....Best of luck to you author

Please take it easy with the lensflare, sometime less is more.
Actually, I like the flare. This is a very nice piece of work...great idea and execution!
Simple but very effective! I like the well measured glow around the planet.

the water flow is from the turtle shield (5 years and 3399 days ago)
i like the idea! but its a little busy
I agree with Tucker; idea is good, but it's kinda confusing...
confused about what
besides what is a little busy
I think your on as far as the idea goes but technically there are place for improvement. First off, all of your source images are way too small. You must not of clicked on the sources picture to get the full resolution. I think the resolution is what really hurt the clarity on this. Second some of the masking needs a bit of work. I wish you luck and make sure you get the full resolution sources next time.

permission for source 8
Have to agree about the sources. They are blurry and hard to make out. I wouldn't have known it was a turtle if not told it was there... no offence author.
I like the idea of the image, however is there anyway you could go back and redo it with high res images? it would be a waste to lose votes on this image cause its simply blurry
will hold vote
thanks but can someone show me how to get higher res ? cuz i dk how to do it
thanks alot
Hi. For sxc.hu, you'd have to click the download button to give you the hi-res which is what you save, not the preview image. And I noticed you need to credit and notify the photographers for some of your sources so you'll have to get their permission first. Hope this helps.
well i clicked on the download button, of course, but the problem happened when i create t he entry. I divived the progress into another small steps that i used in poor resolution(500x500) now i dont know how to get better quality for the entry
for credit yah
i alway give credit to the photographers if i saw his/her name near the download button. In another way, i cant remember all
nice attempt

permission from author of source 8
You won't be able to get a better resolution for this entry unless you redo the whole thing. My comment was in regards to any other entries you hear on out. When I download the source picture I first click on the image and then you should have different size option. Always choose the highest image size even if it's not required in your entry. Good luck!
do i still have a chance?
cuz today is 4th
not sure if i redo it my work will be paid off

Fantastic work. Just one thing: The Earth looks a bit too bright compared to the dark background. Maybe darken a bit. GL !
The idea is so much better than the execution. The masking of the earth showing under the cover is actually very sloppy. I would actually add some more contrast to the earth below.. andmake some light shadow to the 'holes' to give some depth. Anyways, the overall masking needs a lot of more work.
Gonna vote later, if you decide to work on this.
It's a great idea, but i do agree with Widair, rough selections are quite obvious especially in high resolution. I would also suggest lowering the number of stars in the sky, it seems a bit clustered at the moment. Good luck
Thanks lamantine, widiar and ponti55 for nitpick. I have corrected some masking issue. Hope it is ok now.,
what a great idea! i agree about contrast, maybe make the whole image a bit darker? a step by step would be great too
that is really amazing. stunning creativity you executed this perfectly!
Thanks elficho and CrystleClear. elficho, SBS uploaded.
It's a lot better already. For the biggest 'hole' in there you should mask the left edge better. If the weave/ribbon is broken, just copy paste a new solid ribbon for the edge part and mask it carefully to blend in. Some more contrast (and a bit darker background stars) and maybe an overall inner shadow for the whole globe with quite large choke and size to make it even more 3D .. it doesn't have to be a strong shadow, but quite big. Also check the masking for the leftmost waterfall. Either hide the left edge or make sure the water falls from the 'hole', like with the rest of the picture.
I'm glad you're working on this, already so much better.
kevinice95, thanks for comment but you can't erase background in this source by simply background eraser. I always use masks. In this case I have used color range selection tool, then refine some edges manually.
Widiar thanks again for observing very closely my work. Have made some changes.
Wonderful!
This entry makes me wonder that we always waste water (bad use, pollution, etc.)
yes i agree i had the same idea in vegie close up whit new earth new life
very nice work author with great message...best of luck

Why is the puppy so big compared to the plane
think you did well ! Could blur the plane a bit though
GL
Not only is the dog too distorted, but it would be behind the plane, not in front.
