this is nice but i would have been more impressed if this was fully done in photoshop since you didnt had to take care of reflections and shadows yourself. Your 3d program basically did the work for you here.. no offense, it doesnt look bad at all though

avatar Drivenslush

bravo, and great use of 3d

author says:

thanks Drivenslush, Eladine.

No offense taken Eladine, but had the idea and thought best way to achieve it was to utilise 3d prog. this first real work in 3d for me so it was a chance for me to learn bit of the program.

If you squint, the face on the block with the letter A on it disappears.

I don't know if the 3D program lit this for you, but a bit of artistic license might make this look a bit stronger if that surface was lightened a bit, so as to read it better. (not so we can read the letter, but so that it reads as a block.)

Then again, it might just be my monitor... Good luck in the contest.

A bit too dark on the edges, you can't see her awesome shoes!

author says:

Hahaha... Ok Mossy, I'll be fixed in a few minutes... Thanks!

author says:

I hope to give a better view ... the shoes!

This has a surreal and a beautiful look to it. Nice work, author!

avatar Eladine
Eladine says:

I like the image but i dont think you should have put the hair so straight upwards from the back of her head. I keept looking at what was wong with the girl why she looked so odd, then i saw it.. its the hair it gives the neck a real weird angle for some reason while you didnt really changed that at all. I love the mood u added to the picture and the color changes. The motion you ahve added fits perfectly too! I would have added the watch a lil more to the middle closer to her hands though. but overall its very nice, high score!

author says:

Thank you Danielle, for your constructive criticism.
As soon as I can will do something about the hair. I really do not "feel" the fault, so it was so.
But I agree with you!
Thank you!!!

author says:

I made some modifications:

The clock approached her hands.
I have no experience with hair...
So... Duplicated twice the model's hair and worked the size and the edges with smudge.

Tks.

LOL! They still look too green to pick...Great image!

avatar aheman
aheman says:

agree with MossyB, make some red ones for picking... and "booom!"

but seriously, change the sky to real sky and make better 'shadow-n-light' of the grenades

author says:

Aheman, check the source photo...that IS the real sky. And if you check the source pics of the grenades you'll see there's plenty of light & shadow added. Enough for me, anyway.

This is my first published entry!! Hope you like it!! (5 years and 3069 days ago)

avatar RayTedwell

Welcome, and a nice first entry. My main suggestion would be to re-do your shadows though. Your main source of light is coming from the fire, so the shadows should be long and facing out toward the left and right.
