The ends of the straw bales would be darker than the field, because the light source is behind them. Also, all your shadows should rotate to the right.

U are right about the straw bales CMYK but i don't agree about the position of the shadows...i just simulate the situation and most of the shadows goes in good direction and shadow of the pumpkin need to be just a bit moved to the right...

Draw a line from the center of the light source through the different objects & you'll see what I mean.

nice mood your making there. there seems to be two lightsource from the clouds; it's too bright for the stars to be seen yet and some of the clouds seems to be behind the stars. lastly, a lot of dogs running syncronously is a bit odd. nice image though and i like the mood here.

You mean you've never seen a pack of synchronized dogs run wildly through a field on a dimly lit day with the stars shining brightly? haha... Well the stars were supposed to be more of a borderish thing, not really supposed to elude to night at all, so oops on that one. The two light sources were intentional to imply a cloud breaking the light source into "two"..... and I like synchronized dogs...lol

the lightrays wouldn't supposed to be on the same angle then, and the dog would have stronger shadow with that strong light...just my observation. good work though!

Thanks for all the input! I can see I could definitely have made the lighting a little better, directionally and more shadows, I was just trying not to overdo it with the shadowing actually! Anyways, thanks to all, your critiques are very valuable.

Nice looking pic, but remove the supports underneath the sub! (And maybe make the conning tower a bit more blue to match the rest...).

I agree with both cmyk and Nator. Also front of sub is very badly chopped in high res. You used magnetic lasso too or magic wand, didn't you? Adjust the contrast if you want to use magic wand but I would have just used polygonal lasso with a 2px feather. It will give you a better chop. There are vague children’s faces in the window rims. Are they from a source or your own creation? I'd just try to make them looking through the glass. You should put the “School Sub IX” back, it was a nice effect.

EDIT: I see you added lights but you should at least remove the stilts. They just don't look right if it's a sub underwater. It would not need them. Remember realism is the key to this contest.
